FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Oswego State Laker women's basketball team came up short in a nail-biter tonight against the Fredonia Blue Devils. The final was 75-74. Leading the Lakers in points was
Raiven Encarnacion with 25.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Early in the first quarter, the Lakers found themselves down by a score of 8-3.
- Starting a run at 5:45 of the first quarter for the Lakers was Quincey Zimmerman with a three-pointer. The run went on to be 10-0 ending at 3:33 of the first.
- At the end of the first quarter, the Lakers led the Blue Devils, 16-11.
- The second quarter was quite different from the first, the Lakers and Blue Devils exchanged baskets going deep into the first half. Oswego would make a basket and Fredonia would answer back with one of their own.
- This was until the Lakers took the Blue Devils on an 11-3 run to finish out the half behind six from Encarnacion.
- At the 5:01 mark of the third quarter, the Lakers were on top by 11 points (51-40).
- The Blue Devils offense caught fire at the 4:14 mark, going on a 12-1 run, tying the game at 52.
- Hannibal native Katie Pitcher had four points in the Blue Devil run.
- With 46 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Encarnacion started yet another run for the Lakers with a layup and then getting fouled beyond the arc on the next offensive possession
- The junior guard went on to convert each free-throw, putting the Lakers up by five points going into the final frame.
- The Blue Devils found themselves down by five at the 9:06 mark after Quincey Zimmerman hit a jumper.
- The home squad went on an 11-0 run to give themselves a lead of seven (68-61).
- Taylor Torchia hit a three-pointer at the 4:59 mark of the final frame to start a 9-0 run and giving the Lakers their final lead of the game, 74-70.
- Pitcher went on to score a jumper, getting Fredonia back into the game (74-72).
- With 1:11 to go in the contest, Audrey Craffey hit a three-pointer to give the Blue Devils the lead by one at 75-74.
- The Lakers had two more shots at the game winner, but could not steal the road win.
- Oswego shot 77% from the line (20-26) with Encarnacion going 10-11 (91%).
- Senior Sydni Eure shot 86% from the free throw line (6-7). She finished with 12 points.
- Morgan Wolanin led the team in blocks, with 4, and Zimmerman finished the contest with 16 points, including 4-6 from three-point range.

The Lakers return to action at 5:30 p.m. February 4 to continue SUNYAC play against the New Paltz Hawks.
