MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's ice hockey team defeated the Morrisville State Mustangs by a score of 7-0 tonight. The Lakers finished off the night with 13 different players notching points, including three multiple-point scorers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior Mitch Emerson opened the scoring for the Lakers just 25 seconds into the game on a goal assisted by Max Novick.
- Tyler Currie scored his second goal of the year on his birthday, giving the Lakers a 2-0 lead at the 17:59 mark of the period.
- The goal was scored on the power play and was assisted by Anthony Passero and Tyson Kirkby.
- The shots were lopsided in the first period in favor for the Lakers, 19-3. Shots-on-goal in the first period were 12-2.
- The Oswego penalty kill had work to do in the second period, turning away three power-play opportunities for the Mustangs.
- The Lakers continued to add to their shot count, after the second period the shot totals stood at 40-12.
- Oswego doubled their shots-on-goal total in the second period (24) and only allowing seven shots on goal against, bringing the Mustangs to a total of 10.
- Going into the third period, the Lakers led in every category with faceoffs sitting at 27-12.
- From a shot of Carson Vance, Joey Scorpio scored his second goal of the year from a tip-in with 14:04 to go in the third period to put Oswego up by three.
- Carter Allen also earned an assist on the Lakers third tally.
- Derek Brown scored his third goal of the season at the 9:25 mark, putting the Lakers up 4-0 in the third period.
- The goal was assisted by Scorpio (2) and Kirkby (2).
- Mac Lewis slipped the puck through the 5-hole to put Oswego up by five goals in the third period. This was the Uxbridge, Ontario native's first career collegiate goal.
- Assisting the goal was Jody Sullivan and Joesph Molinaro.
- Just 39 seconds after Lewis scored, Josh LeBlanc scored his second goal of the year, putting a wrist shot over the blocker.
- Carter Allen (2) assisted the Lakers' sixth goal, giving him seven points on the year.
- Jody Sullivan went coast-to-coast with the Mustangs on the power play, using a two-on-one to score with only 22 seconds left in the contest.
- David Richer picked up the 17-save shutout, giving him his 9th career shutout.
- The faceoffs finished at 41-19, led by Kirkby (11), Josh Zizek (10), Passero (8) and Mac Lewis (8).
