Brandan Gartland hit a jumper for his 17
th point of the evening and the 1,000
th point of his Laker career in leading Oswego past Oneonta by a score of 81-76. It was a battle of two teams ranked inside the top-8 of the East Region, with Oneonta sitting at fifth last week and the Lakers at eighth.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego came out strong with an 18-10 lead over the first seven and a half minutes behind nine points from freshman Jeremiah Sparks.
- The Red Dragons answered back with a 10-0 run to grab a quick 20-18 lead.
- Gartland and Tim Marshall poured in 14 combined points of a 17-0 run to move out to 35-20 with 4:27 remaining in the half.
- The teams traded buckets with Julien Crittendon helping the Lakers to a 39-25 lead at the half.
- Oneonta and the Lakers played even for the first 15 minutes of the second half with Oswego up 71-58.
- A 9-0 run by the home team closed the gap down to four with 3:35 to go.
- The Laker defense held the next three possessions while Sparks and senior Joe Sullivan each hit on trips to the charity stripe to push the lead back to 10 with 1:46 on the clock.
- Oneonta hit some late buckets but Oswego was perfect from the free throw line to ice it.
- Sparks (23), Gartland (19) and Sullivan (19) led the Laker offense on the night, with Sparks adding eight assists.
- Sullivan achieved the double-double with 10 rebounds while Sparks had nine and freshman Jamal Achilles had eight off the bench.
- Oswego won the rebounding battle with a 46-38 advantage.
- The win was also Coach Leone's 250th of his coaching career.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers return home for their final two regular season contests, starting with a 7:30 p.m. matchup with Geneseo Friday.
