Brandan Gartland, the Oswego State men's basketball team fell to a hot-shooting Cortland squad on the road, 82-72, on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego stormed out to a 17-6 lead in the first six minutes of the contest behind five points apiece from Sullivan, Gartland and junior Liam Sanborn.
- With Oswego up 22-12, Cortland went on a 15-4 run to grab their first lead at 27-26 and 3:37 left in the half.
- It was back-and-forth for the rest of the half with Cortland taking a 35-34 lead into the break.
- The Red Dragons moved out to a 10-point lead within the first four minutes of the second half.
- Oswego made runs at the hosts to get the lead down to five on multiple occasions, the last with 1:32 left on a layup from Sanborn, but Cortland answered each time.
- Sanborn finished with 14 points while Jordan Brown (7) and Jeremiah Sparks (7) led the Lakers in rebounding.
- It was close in the battle-of-the-boards with Oswego holding a 33-32 edge.
- Cortland shot 57.6% in the contest, including a blistering 64.3% in the second half to earn the win.
