OSWEGO, N.Y. – On Senior Day, the Oswego State volleyball team battled with New Paltz, taking the opening set before losing close second and third sets before succumbing, 3-1.  Senior Skylar Bechard had a match-high 26 digs and junior Sydney Chiffriller led the Lakers with 10 kills.  Prior to the match, Oswego honored seniors Bechard, Dana Carey and Madelyn Smith.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The opening set was back and forth as Oswego put up 15 kills with their senior-laden lineup.
• New Paltz's block started to disrupt the Laker offense beginning in the second set en route to 13 blocks in the match.
• Junior McKenna Corbin had a double-double for the Lakers with 15 assists and 11 digs.
• Carey had 16 assists, seven digs and three blocks while sophomore Georgia Farry had seven kills and six blocks.

The Lakers return to action when they host Cazenovia at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
