Men's Ice Hockey Downed by Hobart

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's Ice Hockey team was defeated by Hobart College by a score of 3-1 for their first loss of the 2021-22 regular season.

THE BASICS
  • Final Score:   Hobart 3, Oswego 1
  • Location:      Deborah F. Stanley Arena ,  Oswego, N.Y.
  • Records:   Hobart 1-0-0 (NEHC 0-0), Oswego 0-1-0 (SUNYAC 0-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Halfway through the first period after relentless offensive pressure, Hobart struck first at the 11:04 mark of the first period.
  • This goal came on the powerplay after a minor penalty for slashing. The goal was scored with only 14 seconds remaining in the penalty.
  • At the end of the first period the score remained 1-0 in favor of the Statesmen.
  • Hobart extended their lead at the 9:50 mark of the second period. This ended up being the game-winning goal.
  • The Lakers seemed to get their feet under them in the second half of the second period, the clock had other plans.
  • At the end of the second period, the score continued to be in favor of the Western New York foe.
  • With the momentum going into the third period, Hobart came out and shut that down immediately as they extended their lead to 3-0.
  • As the Lakers settled in the third period, Defenseman Troy Robillard found himself on the backdoor wide open after Jackson Arcan got the puck off of the half wall to Travis Broughman who then found Robillard for the tap in to get their team on the board.
  • Oswego led in the faceoffs department by a margin of 37 wins to 27 losses.
  • Tyson Kirkby led his team in faceoffs won (12). Just behind Kirkby was Jared Nash with 11 wins, followed by Connor Sleeth (7) and Mac Lewis (7).  
WHAT'S NEXT

The Lakers will travel to Elmira tomorrow to take on the Soaring Eagles of at 7:00P.M.
