Ahkee Anderson, the Oswego State men's basketball team defeated Elmira College by a score of 85-51 in the opening round of the Max Ziel Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was close at 6-4 for Oswego over the opening five minutes as both teams were playing their opening games of the season.
- Oswego then went on a 10-0 run behind a pair of layups from Jamal Achille and threes from Anderson and Devin Green.
- Crittendon then poured in eight points with a bucket and two threes to extend the Laker lead out to 25-6 with just under 10 minutes to play in the opening half.
- It ended up being a 42-19 halftime lead for Oswego and Elmira got no closer than 25 in the second half.
- Fourteen different players ended up scoring for Oswego while Green led the team with nine rebounds and Jordan Brown had seven.
- The Lakers shot 50.7% from the field to just 29.3% for Elmira and outrebounded the visitors 50-33.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers take on Hobart tomorrow in the Max Ziel Championship game at 4 p.m. on their home court.
