NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's Soccer team defeated the #2 Hawks of New Paltz to bring them to their first SUNYAC Tournament Championship in program history.

- Records: Oswego 6-6-5 (4-4-2 SUNYAC), New Paltz 12-5-0 (7-2-0 SUNYAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams played sound defense in the first half, with multiple offensive chances, the goalkeepers found themselves victorious.
- The Lakers came out HOT in the second half.
- At the 49:45 mark, off of a corner kick, the Lakers took possession after a missed opportunity. HaJoon Lee found himself with the ball wide open, he then crossed it with his left foot through the box.
- Kieran Gilroy headed the ball against the momentum to find the goalie out of position for the Lakers lone goal.
- At the 71:46 mark of the contest, New Paltz was awarded a penalty kick after an Oswego foul inside of the box.
- As the trend of the game continued, Senior goalkeeper Brian Terra saved the penalty kick to keep the Lakers in the lead. This save was a huge turning point in the game.
- The Oswego State defense stayed strong throughout the rest of the contest, keeping the Hawks off the board on multiple offensive opportunities and corner kicks.
- Terra finished the contest with two saves, along with saving multiple goal opportunities for the Hawks.

Oswego will travel to #1 Cortland to battle for the SUNYAC Championship. This contest is set to start at 1:00PM on Saturday, November 6
