HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cortland went out to a 6-2 lead in the opening five minutes of the contest.
- Oswego then went on a 25-3 run over the next 12 minutes, including an eight-minute run where they held the Red Dragons scoreless.
- Senior Julien Crittendon had 10 points in the run and junior Devin Green added eight.
- The teams played even for the remaining of the half with the Lakers taking a 33-16 lead into the intermission.
- Three minutes into the second half, Mulson drove through the lane and scored a layup that gave him 1,001 career points in his collegiate career.
- Mulson transferred from Suffolk College where he scored 973 points in three full seasons and one Covid-shortened year.
- With seven minutes left in the contest, Oswego built up the lead to 56-28 by holding Cortland to just 25% shooting to that point.
- Green then scored nine of the next 12 Laker points with three straight three pointers to make it 65-35 with four minutes left.
- From there, the Oswego reserves of Hunter Cole, Jovayne Walters, Eric Londis, Chris Toscano, Rashawn Grant, Eric Sanfilippo, and Joe Perlowski closed the game out.
- Green led Oswego with 20 points with Crittendon finishing with 14.
- Jeremiah Sparks grabbed 14 rebounds while Jordan Brown (8 points) and Jamal Achille (7 points) each added valuable contributions on offense.
- Oswego was efficient from the floor, shooting 40.3% overall and 39.1% from deep.
