OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Laker men's basketball team raced out to a 20-point advantage and then held off any second-half charge from the Buffalo State team to move to 2-0 in SUNYAC play with a 79-63 home win on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Oswego raced out to a 9-0 lead behind five points from senior Brendan Mulson.
• The Lakers pushed to lead to 33-13 behind seven points from Jamal Achille with just 3:16 left in the first half.
• Defense was key for Oswego as they held the Bengals to 21.2% shooting from the field while hitting 42.1% of their shots in the half in taking a 41-25 lead.
• It was a 23-0 edge in bench points for the Lakers at the midpoint of the contest.
• In the second half, the Bengals got no closer than 16 points as Oswego answered every bucket that Buffalo State scored with one of their own.
• Four Lakers finished with double-digit points led by Julien Crittendon (14) and joined by Jeremiah Sparks (11), Ahkee Anderson (11) and Mulson (10).
• Achille finished with nine points and junior Devin Green had eight and a team-high seven rebounds.
• Oswego won the battle of the boards by a 46-37 advantage.
