FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's basketball team got off to a great start in the beginning of the contest, going on a 17-0 run. From here the Lakers would not let the Blue Devils crawl back in as they kept the pressure on. Oswego finishes the semester 7-1 overall and 4-0 in conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Lakers started the first half on fire as they scored 17 straight points out the gate.
• In the 17 point run the Lakers had six different scorers.
• The Blue Devils from 13:41-7:47 went on an 11-4 run bringing them within ten points.
• Oswego went on another 5-0 run to bring their lead to 15 points (29-14).
• With the final five minutes of the half, the offensive was back-and-forth.
• The Lakers took an 11-point lead into the second half.
• Fueled by a Julien Crittendon layup with an one conversion, the green and gold went on a 6-2 run from 16:45-14:35 extending their lead to 16 points (47-31).
• After a successful dunk by Jamal Achille at 13:01, the game went scoreless for nearly three minutes.
• At the 10:04 mark Devin Green hit a jumper to once again go up by 17 points (51-34).
• From here both teams battled offensively, but it was too late for the Blue Devils as the Lakers answered back to every offensive opportunity.
• Oswego finished the game with two made free-throws from Jeremiah Sparks for his 15^th and 16^th points, giving the Lakers the 63-48 victory.
• From the start, the Lakers held the lead, not allowing even a tie throughout.
• The Lakers, by percentage were outshot by the Blue devils throughout, 33.8% to the Blue Devils 34.9% but had way less opportunities.
• Oswego shot the ball 65 times to Fredonia's 43.
• The Lakers had four players with at least ten points, Sparks (16), Devin Green (11), Crittendon (10) and Jamal Achille (10).
• In 23 minutes, Achille shot 80% from the field, including five rebounds and a steal.
• Green, along with his 10 points earned three steals and four rebounds.
• Ahkee Anderson finished the contest with eight points, four assists, two rebounds and four steals including going 6-6 from the free-throw line.
• Also scoring for the Lakers was Brendan Mulson (5), Jordan Brown (2) and newcomer Christian Simmons (1).

The Lakers will compete in the St. John Fisher Tournament on Dec. 29 at 7:00pm where they will take on Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the first round of the tournament.
