OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team edged out visiting Fredonia by a 5-4 score on the Romney Tennis Courts.  Freshman Alexandra Sperling had wins in both doubles and singles to lead the Lakers.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In First Doubles, Bridget Bender and Miryam Makutonin won by an 8-4 score.
• Fredonia rallied for an 8-3 win at Second Doubles over the team of Jenny Lapp and Jenna Wilson.
• Sperling and Debora Win gave Oswego the edge heading into singles with an 8-4 victory of their own.
• The Lakers got singles wins at Second Singles from Makutonin (6-4, 6-2) and Third Singles from Lapp (6-4, 6-4).
• Sperling improved her singles mark to 2-0 with a 6-3, 6-0 win at Sixth Singles to give Oswego the match.
