HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- Oneonta jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs against junior Kieran Finnegan in the first inning.
- The game remained that way until the seventh when Holliday doubled home senior Ryan Weiss and Lauria.
- Holliday and senior Myles Felton would both score in the inning to put Oswego up 4-2.
- In the eighth, Oswego scored two more when Holliday singled to bring in Weiss and freshman Jacob Levine.
- Felton would homer to conclude scoring for Oswego.
- Finnegan (6-0) went eight, allowing just the two runs and striking out seven for the win.
- Senior Ronald Loomis pitched the ninth, escaping a no-out bases loaded situation by striking out the side.
Game 2
- Senior Jake Terrill took the ball in the second and kept the Red Dragons off the scoreboard through four innings.
- Senior Brendon Frank homered in the fourth to open the scoring.
- Oneonta answered with a pair in the fifth to take a mid-game lead.
- In the bottom of the fifth, a Frank Levanti single would bring Felton home to tie the score.
- Oswego was not done in the fifth as a bases-clearing triple from Lauria would do the big damage, putting the Lakers back up 7-2 by the end of the inning.
- Felton and Frank were both problems for the Red Dragons, combining for six runs scored and four stolen bases.
- Terrill (3-0) earned the win with Mike Di Salvo and Ben Wilcox pitching the final four innings and yielding a pair of runs.
