CANTON, N.Y. - The Oswego State volleyball split a pair of matches at the North Country Tournament in Upstate, N.Y. The Lakers started play at St. Lawrence with a 3-0 setback before taking the short trip over to SUNY Canton to earn a 3-0 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Match 1 – St. Lawrence
- Sophomore Grace Taylor led Oswego with 10 kills and six blocks in the match.
- In the third set, Oswego led 16-11 and was up 22-21 before a 4-1 run by the Saints finished the match off.
- Freshman Cara Simplicio and junior Emma Fiorentine each had seven kills on offense.
- Senior Skylar Bechard and freshman Madison Gordon each had eight digs on the defensive side.
Match 2 – SUNY Canton
- Fiorentine led Oswego with 10 kills while fellow junior Sydney Chiffriller had seven.
- Setter McKenna Corbin led Oswego with 15 assists and three aces.
- Sophomore Kaylee Troy led the defense with nine digs in her first start at libero this season.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers travel to Potsdam for a 12 p.m. Saturday match at perennial Liberty League powerhouse Clarkson.
