HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a common theme of the match where the Red Dragons and Lakers were close until the middle of each set.
- In the opening set, it was 11-10 when a 7-2 Cortland run extended the lead out to 18-12.
- The second set had 10 ties and four lead changes before a late 3-0 Red Dragon run made it 22-18.
- Oswego closed it to 22-21 behind Simplicio's serving and junior Sydney Chiffriller's hitting.
- A pair of Laker errors and a Nicole Van Pelt kill would close it out for Cortland.
- The teams were close in the third set with a 13-13 score before a crucial 6-0 service run from Carly Haegele gave Cortland the cushion they needed to finish off the match.
- Junior McKenna Corbin led Oswego with 11 assists while senior Dana Carey had seven.
- Senior Skylar Bechard had 11 digs with juniors Chiffriller and Emma Fiorentine added six kills each.
