Lakers Score Season-High 109 in Win over Bengals

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Transfer Christian Simmons scored 22 points in just 17 minutes of action as the Lakers crushed their previous season high in points (85) during a 109-72 victory over Buffalo State on the road on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Junior Devin Green connected for a trio of three pointers in the opening five minutes as Oswego held an 11-10 lead.
  • Six points from freshman Ahkee Anderson and 10 from Simmons keyed a 19-5 run to put the Lakers up 30-15 with 10 minutes left in the opening half.
  • The Laker offense kept the pressure on for a 54-32 lead heading into halftime.
  • Oswego led by no less than 20 points in the entire second half while the lead ballooned to 40 points on a pair of Cam Chance free throws with 1:27 left in the contest.
  • Simmons was joined in double figures by Green (17), Anderson (14) and Jamal Achille (12).
  • Sophomore Jeremiah Sparks had nine points and eight rebounds while senior Hunter Cole added nine and seven, respectively.
  • Freshman Marcus Shelton added nine points and junior Kaleb Cook scored eight.
  • Oswego connected for 16 three pointers and hit them at a 50% clip on the afternoon.
  • The Lakers also won the battle of the boards by a 47-27 advantage and had a huge 63-18 edge in bench points.

The Lakers head up to Potsdam on Thursday for a 6 p.m. SUNYAC contest with the Bears.
