HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers kicked off the game just two minutes into action with Ryan Bunka taking a pass near the blue line and seeing open space down the middle as the defense focused on Broughman in front.
- Bunka skated right into the middle and beat Bengal goalie Emil Norrman on the blocker side.
- Two minutes into the second period, just after the Lakers killed a power play, they got the puck down low and Broughman swung it back to the point.
- Tristan Francis gathered the puck and moved towards the middle as Jackson Arcan and Connor Sleeth created some traffic in front.
- Francis fired the puck just inside the post on the blocker side for the goal.
- Right off the following faceoff, Oswego won control and fired a cross-ice pass to Arcan streaking down the left side.
- He slapped a shot to the same blocker side Francis used and scored the third Laker goal.
- Francis and Ryan Dickinson were awarded assists on Arcan's goal.
- Two minutes later, Josh LeBlanc entered the offensive zone, drew the defense and dropped the puck out to Shane Bull.
- Bull cut to the middle then snapped a shot to the high blocker side for the third goal of the period.
- The Lakers were able to kill of all three penalties they took in the second period.
- In the third period, Broughman laid out to block a Buffalo State shot and eventually gathered the puck to lead Oswego out of the zone.
- Connor Sleeth took the pass from Broughman and into the offensive zone, dropped it back to a trailing Broughman who then swung it over to Quinn Warmouth.
- Warmouth slapped a shot over the goalie's left shoulder into the top shelf for the 5-0 lead with 7:04 left in the contest.
- Oswego killed off a late penalty to send Buffalo State to 0-for-4 on the man advantage.
- The Lakers had a 37-35 edge in shots-on-goal while the Bengals won 33-of-60 faceoffs in the game.
- Broughman's three points in the game helps him extend his team-lead in points to 17 (5G/12A).
