PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The defense of the Plattsburgh Cardinals used seven first-half blocks to hold the Lakers to just 13.5% shooting as they defeated Oswego by a 73-43 score.  Senior Raiven Encarnacion led the Lakers with 12 points and four rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Plattsburgh opened the contest with the opening eight points before Oswego closed the first quarter with the final four.
• Halfway through the second quarter, Plattsburgh began hitting shots from deep during a 13-4 run and led 27-13 at the break.
• Both teams' offenses got on track in the third quarter with Oswego scoring 17 points, while the Cardinals poured in 22.
• Plattsburgh pulled away in the fourth quarter with a 24-13 edge in points.
• Senior Danielle Caivana added 11 points while freshman Diamond Pickett had nine points and 10 rebounds.
• Junior Logan Castiglione had six points and seven rebounds while freshman Elaina Johnson had a game-high 13 rebounds.
