- Plattsburgh goalie Anthony Del Tufo made the save but Tyler Flack grabbed the rebound and snapped it home.
- A few minutes later, Ryan Dickinson laid out for a poke check in the defensive zone and cleared the puck to the offensive blue line where Connor Sleeth secured it.
- He skated down as the defense focused on cutters down the middle and beat Del Tufo on the blocker side for the 2-0 lead.

Second Period
- With 11:01 left in the second period, the Cardinals kept the puck down low and eventually drove to the Laker net.
- They passed it into the middle, creating a screen in front of Laker goalie Steven Kozikoski, and scored to break Oswego's two-game shutout run.
- Oswego answered right back within two minutes when Tommy Cahill got behind the defense and fired a shot on goal.
- The rebound came right back to Cahill as he skated behind the goal and he flipped it backwards to a trailing Garrett Clegg who fired it into the net.
- Just 35 seconds later, Conor Smart slipped past the defense to the Plattsburgh goalie's right and beat him high for a 4-1 lead and forcing Plattsburgh into a timeout.
- Leading scorers Travis Broughman and Alex DiCarlo earned assists on Smart's goal.
Third Period
- The final period was a stalemate until four minutes left when Plattsburgh got a breakaway chance and scored to make it 4-2.
- Right off the faceoff, Oswego caught Plattsburgh pressing forward and AJ Ryan got behind the defense for a breakaway of his own and scored just 16 seconds after the Cardinal goal.
