GENESEO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's basketball team gave Geneseo everything they had, holding the lead with 26 seconds left in the fourth quarter, before a late Knights' layup sent the hosts to a 51-49 win over the Lakers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo started strong with an 18-11 lead after the opening frame.
- The Oswego defense clamped down in holding the Knights to just four points in the second quarter and helped the Lakers take a 23-22 lead into the break.
- Both teams scored 16 points in the third quarter to keep the Lakers up one at 39-38 heading into the fourth quarter.
- Oswego started the final stanza on a 6-2 run behind three-pointers from senior Logan Castiglione and sophomore Chastin Giles.
- Geneseo answered with an 8-0 to lead 48-45 with 4:13 remaining in the contest.
- Freshman Diamond Pickett answered with a layup and classmate Shania Iglesias hit a jump to put the Lakers back on top with three minutes left to play.
- Down the stretch, the Knights forced a pair of turnovers and made the key layup to steal the win.
- Iglesias led Oswego with 12 points and four rebounds while Castiglione had nine and six, respectively.
- Giles added eight points and Pickett had seven points and seven boards.
- It was the second game in a row where the Laker defense wreaked havoc, this time holding the opponent to 32.2% shooting from the floor, including just 12.5% from deep.
- The Lakers recorded 12 steals and forced 16 turnovers in the contest while outscoring the Knights 27-15 in bench points.
