OSWEGO, N.Y. – Oswego State Women's Ice Hockey prevailed over conference opponent SUNY Morrisville 2-1 on friday night. Simone Bednarik netted the game-winning goal with 5:18 left in the game as the Lakers gained two points in the NEWHL standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a very back-and-forth start to the game, the Lakers gained their first opportunity with a Morrisville penalty at the 6:17 mark.
- Despite putting 8 shots up during the power-play, Oswego was held off the board.
- At 11:28 Morgan Shines tallied her tenth point of the season by assisting Lizzie Burke to break the scoreless tie.
- The Mustangs received a power-play opportunity later in the first, but the Lakers penalty-kill came up big to keep the lead intact.
- Oswego dominated time of possession in the second frame, out-shooting Morrisville 31-7.
- The persistent Laker offense was still held off the scoreboard after a hard-fought twenty minutes due to strong goalie play on Morrisville's end.
- Morrisville knotted the game up very early in the third period, finding the back of the net thirty-nine seconds in.
- A 5-on-4 opportunity at 4:50 was held at bay by Morrisville despite the Lakers' continued offensive pressure.
- With 5:18 remaining in the contest, Chyne Kennedy served up Bednarik who found the back of the net and delivered the go-ahead goal.
- The Mustangs were held to 3 shots in the final 5 minutes of the game as the Lakers battled to a conference victory.
