Men's Soccer Puts Up Six In Shutout Effort

OSWEGO, N.Y.  –  The Oswego State Men's Soccer team dominated the Potsdam Bears, reaching the back of the net six times. Oswego's offense was a force to be reckoned with, while the defense was able to pitch a shutout against the Bears.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Oswego showed a strong offensive first half against the Bears, putting 4 shots on goal within the first 10 minutes, with one reaching the back of the net by Nikola Kovacevic, assisted by Caleb Munski

  • Oswego finished off the first half landing three shots on goal and had nine total shots. 

  • The Bears had one shot on goal, and only three shots attempted.

  • Both offenses showed life in the final 10 minutes, with four total shots occurring, two for each team.

  • Seven different Lakers had shots offensively in the first half.

  • The Lakers defense showed a strong performance in the first half. 

  • Freshman Andre Bourjolly saved the only shot on goal he faced.

  • The Lakers continued their dominance in the second half with an offensive onslaught.

  • Oswego scored their second goal not even a minute into the second half, coming from Kieran Gilroy (45:59) assisted by Ryan Contreras

  • The Bears would receive a red card not even 30 seconds later, which would start the run by the Lakers.

  • Oswego would score again less than a minute after the red card was assessed. 

  • This goal came from Liam Rothar (47:15) assisted by Brendan Murphy.

  • Kyle Gehnrich would add another goal for the Lakers at 52:38, assisted by Jason Wuytack.

  • Kieran Gilroy would notch his second goal of the day at 53:53, this time assisted by Anastasios Diacovasilis.

  • David Cadet would get in on the action with just over ten minutes remaining in the contest, scoring at 73:36 assisted by Jean Pierre Moquizilla. 

  • Andre Bourjolly would finish with 2 saves on the day, as well as junior Finnian Costello
