PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Soccer team opened up the postseason with a matchup against the Plattsburgh Cardinals. The Lakers were able to pull off the upset in extra time, defeating the Cardinals 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first half of play saw very little action in a defensive dominated performance by both teams.

Oswego was only able to get 1 shot off, which came from Brianna Winkler.

Plattsburgh was able to get 5 shots off, with Perri Anderson recording 1 save in the half.

The score remained 0-0 at the end of the first half.

The second half of play continued to be a defensive performance, however, we did see more opportunities for each team to get a goal.

The Cardinals would have 14 shots in the second half, and Oswego would have 8. Perri Anderson would add 3 more saves, bringing her total to 4 on the afternoon.

The game would go into overtime, as neither team was able to score.

Anderson made a phenomenal save shortly into the first extra period of play, as there was a 1:1 opportunity for the Cardinals.

Oswego scored on a well placed corner kick, which Graisa Madden was able to get the ball into the net and give Oswego the 1-0 lead.
