#5 Ranked Lakers Take Down Golden Knights 94-69

POTSDAM, NY.  –  The Oswego State Men's Basketball team traveled to Potsdam to take on the Clarkson Golden Knights this evening. The Lakers were able to establish the lead early on and continued to pour the points on the Knights.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Lakers started off fast, establishing a 14-2 lead with the help from Devin Green, as he was able to start off going 4 for 4 on 3pt attempts. 

  • Clarkson had trouble early on against the defense played by Oswego, turning the ball over 3 times in the first 3 minutes of play. 

  • After an early timeout by Clarkson, the Lakers would cool down and the Knights would cut their deficit to just 5 going into halftime. 

  • In the first half, Oswego shot over 52% from the field, converting on 19 of their 36 field goal attempts. The Lakers also converted on 70% of their 3pt attempts, going 7 for 10. 

  • Oswego was shooting the ball even more effectively in the second half, converting on almost 54% of their field goal attempts. The Lakers converted 22 of their 41 second half attempts. 

  • The Lakers were able to build their largest lead of the night in the second half of play, leading by 27 points. 

  • Oswego shot over 53% on the night (41-77),  while shooting 50% on their 3pt attempts (9/18). 

  • The Lakers dominated the paint throughout the contest, earning 58 of their points in the paint. 

  • Leading for the Lakers in points was Devin Green. Green finished with 23 points on the night, while also leading with 6 assists. Green shot 64% from the field, while going 83% from 3pt range. 

  • Cartier Bowman led the Lakers on the glass, securing 11 rebounds for Oswego. 

WHAT'S NEXT

The Men will head to Rochester on Tuesday, November 22nd to take on Nazareth College at 7pm in a highly anticipated rematch from last season. The Golden Flyers are playing sound basketball, shooting over 51% from the field as a team, while converting on almost 45% of their 3pt attempts.
