OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Lakers hosted the ECWC Championships on Saturday. The Oswego team finished fourth in the championships with an accumulation of 111.5 points. The Lakers finished above five schools of the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference, up two spots from last season. A total of six Oswego State wrestlers earned All-Conference honors by way of placing among the top-six in their respective weight classes, led by Charlie Grygas who defended his 174-pound title from a year ago.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Michael Santore at the 125 weight class won by a fall over St. John Fisher at 2:21 and was eliminated by sudden victory in the quarterfinal round.
- John Vicario also at the 125 weight class won by an 8-3 decision in the first round.
- In the consolation third round, Vicario was defeated by major decision 12-1.
- Joseph Ribitzki was victorious in third consolation round by fall over St. John Fisher.
- In the 141 weight class, Andrew Saylor won by decision 8-6 over RIT.
- Tyler Rossini came in second place in the 149-pound weight class with a fall over Michael Blando in the semifinal match (4:10). He had three wins by fall and a win via sudden death over the course of the day. He earned 20 points for the performance.
- Grygas came in first place in the 174-pound weight class with a fall over Gavin McLaughlin (20-5). He received a bye in round one and then had four consecutive wins by fall en route to the overall victory. Grygas led the Lakers with 23 points earned for the team.
- Bryce Smith finished second in the 184-pound weight class with a decision win in the semifinal match (Dec 5-0). Like Grygas, Smith also had a bye in round one, and rattled off three straight victories before reaching the final match. His performance gave Oswego 17.5 points.
- Logan McGloine won the third-place match in the 157-pound weight class via decision (Dec 5-0). Mcgloine also totaled five wins on the day, the most of any Oswego wrestler. He was responsible for 18 of Oswego's points in the Championships.
- Thomas Coll and Anthony Cascen combined for 18 team points to earn the final two All-Conference honors for the Lakers.
- Oswego totaled 35 victories across the event, including 23 by either fall or tech fall.

The Lakers will travel to Rochester to face RIT on December 3 at 9:00 am.
