POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's Basketball team took down the Bears of SUNY Potsdam in a conference showdown. The Lakers were able to start their North Country road trip with a victory by a score of 79-60. Devin Green led the Green and Gold with 20 points, 12 rebounds and two steals, recording a double-double.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first three minutes of the contest was back and forth on the offensive. Ahkee Anderson with a three-pointer at the 16:39 mark put the Lakers up by three (8-5).

From here, Green took over, hitting two straight three's, putting the Lakers up 14-6 with 13:35 remaining in the half.

From 12:43-10:41 the Lakers went on a 10-3 run, putting them up 23-12 after a made layup by Sean Edwards on the fast break.

The Bears cut their deficit to seven points (24-17) before the Lakers put their foot on the gas.

Oswego went on a 13-4 run from 7:58-4:41.

Joey Rowback ended the half with a three-pointer, putting the Lakers up big (45-24).

The second half started out much like the first, within the first two minutes and 30 seconds, each team had scored three times.

Potsdam showed some light in their game with a swifty 6-0 run from 15:15- 14:06 to bring their squad within 12 points (52-40).

Deja vu, same as the first half, the Lakers shut the door on the Bears after a quick run by the home team.

Oswego then went on to score the next ten points, putting them up 62-40 with 11:06 remaining.

From here the Bears defense settled in, continuing to trade baskets, getting the game to 72-52 with 5:53 remaining.

The Bears ended the contest with a 6-2 run, it proved to not be enough as the Lakers took the victory by 19 points.

Anderson dropped 17 points, collected four assists, eight rebounds and one steal.

Jeremiah Sparks finished the contest with 13 points, five assists, seven rebounds, and shot 50% from the field.

Rowback shot 75% from beyond the arc and collected nine points and three rebounds.
WHAT'S NEXT
The men will travel to Plattsburgh to take on the Cardinals with a tip-off of 3PM, originally scheduled for 2PM.
