Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

No. 12 Lakers Fall To Brockport In SUNYAC Play

OSWEGO, N.Y.  –  The Oswego State Men's Basketball team fell to the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles in a tight matchup that saw Devin Green lead the Lakers in scoring.

THE BASICS

Final Score: Oswego State 47 (4-2 , SUNYAC 1-1), Brockport 58 (5-1 , SUNYAC 2-0)

Location: Max Ziel Gymnasium, Oswego, NY

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Oswego trailed Brockport 13-7 just over 10 minutes into the contest, but went on a 10-0 run to take a 17-13 lead with five minutes remaining in the first half.

  • The Lakers trailed at the end of the first half, 28-25.

  • Sean Edwards led Oswego in the first half with six points.

  • The second half started with both teams swapping the lead back and forth.

  • Oswego shot the ball much more efficiently in the first ten minutes of the second half, going 50% from the field.

  • Devin Green had 11 points with ten minutes remaining, and Joey Rowback had eight.

  • Brockport seized a six-point lead with about six minutes left, and coming out of a Laker timeout, Jamal Achille hit a layup to cut the Oswego deficit to four.

  • That score would wind up being the last score for either team until about 90 seconds remaining in the game, when the Brockport lead again began to grow.

  • Devin Green ended the game with 11 points, although the scoring was pretty even throughout the entire Laker roster.

  • The Lakers shot 25.7% from the field, and 18.5% from three point range.

  • The Lakers had more offensive rebounds, recording 16 to Brockport's ten.

  • Oswego also had more fast break points than Brockport, outsourcing them on the break 10-7.

WHAT'S NEXT

The men will travel to Buffalo to face the Buffalo State Bengals on December 3, and look to get back in the win column against a team that has lost two games in a row.
