BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's Basketball team dominated the Buffalo State Bengals in their SUNYAC matchup with a 42-point victory. Five Lakers scored in double figures, led by Jeremiah Sparks who had a 30-point game, and every Oswego player managed to log some minutes on the floor in the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Jeremiah Sparks started the Oswego scoring in the first half with two and-one layups that gave the Lakers a 6-2 lead early.

The Lakers blazed out to an early 15-4 lead, forcing the Bengals to take a timeout less than three minutes in.

Oswego led 26-16 with ten minutes remaining in the first half. Cartier Bowman led the Lakers with seven points.

The Lakers continued to hold a ten-point lead as time in the first half began to dwindle away.

Jeremiah Sparks caught fire with around seven minutes left, scoring 18 of Oswego's 22 points to end the half, including four threes.

Oswego's lead ballooned to 18 points at the first half, and they led the Bengals 51-33 at the break.

Sparks led the Lakers in scoring at the half with 24 points. As a whole, Oswego shot 50% from the field and 44.4% from three point range.

In the first five minutes of the second half, Ahkee Anderson got hot and scored seven points which helped grow the lead to 22.

With 9:29 remaining, the lead had grown to 30 off some good shooting from Kaleb Cook and Devin Green.

With less than five minutes remaining, both teams dipped deep into their benches, and every active player got to see some action as the lead approached 40.

The only question was whether Oswego could break the 100-point barrier, and they finally did so off a Sean Edwards three-pointer with 2:28 remaining.

A Rashawn Grant free throw put the finishing touches on a 42-point victory for the Lakers, who dominated, 106-64.

A key difference in the game was Oswego's opportunistic shooting coming off of Bengal turnovers, which added up to 25 points.

Oswego also outrebounded Buffalo State 48-29.

Jeremiah Sparks' hot shooting gave him 30 points for the game. Kaleb Cook had 15, Devin Green contributed 14, Ahkee Anderson's hot start to the second half helped him have a 13-point performance, and Cartier Bowman scored 12 for the Lakers.
WHAT'S NEXT
The men will travel to Potsdam to face the Bears in another SUNYAC matchup on December 10, and will look to continue the wave of hot shooting that propelled them past the Bengals.
