ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's basketball team built a 21-point lead then held off a late charge to sweep the season series from Oneonta in a 56-52 victory.  Freshman Shania Iglesias led the Lakers with 20 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Iglesias scored 11 points in the opening quarter to put Oswego up 19-11 to kick off the game.
• Sophomore Chastin Giles scored five points in the second quarter as the Lakers went into the halftime break with a 31-21 lead.
• Behind a trio of three pointers in the third quarter from Danielle Caivana, the lead grew to 21 points with a minute left in the third quarter.
• Oneonta went on a 24-9 run in the final quarter, but free throws by Caivana and freshman Diamond Pickett clinched the win.
• Caivana finished with 15 points while Pickett had six points and 14 rebounds.
• Junior Logan Castiglione had six points, five rebounds and three assists.
• Oswego won the rebounding battle by a 45-42 margin and outshot Oneonta 37% to 28%.
