MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Ice Hockey team defeated Morrisville on Friday night extending their win streak to seven games. Ashlyn McGrath and Kyleigh Grugin each scored twice for the Lakers en route to a 6-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- As they have all season, Oswego got off to a fast start in the game, piling up 15 shots in the 1st period.
- After a scoreless frame the Lakers would break into the scoring column, tallying their first goal of the game just 38 seconds into the 2nd period.
- Avery Webster recorded an assist on the goal, setting up Grugin for her eighth goal of the season.
- Two minutes later at 3:07 Sophia Kyrkostas found the back of the net on an unassisted power-play goal, pushing the lead to two.
- Oswego still wasn't finished, putting up their third score of the night on an even-strength goal at 4:05 in the stanza.
- McGrath netted the puck after being set up by Rachel Corbett, putting the Lakers up 3-0.
- Morrisville received a 5-on-3 opportunity halfway through the period, but came up empty thanks to a strong Lakers penalty-kill running at a 90.3% efficiency going into the contest.
- The Lakers currently sit at 15th in the country in penalty kill percentage.
- 20 seconds after the killed penalty, Morgan Shines got on the stat sheet with an assist to Grugin, scoring her second goal of the night and extending the Lakers lead to 4-0.
- The final frame went back-and-forth for seven minutes, both exchanging shots but neither putting up a goal.
- At 7:26, Oswego recorded their fifth goal of the night off the stick of Freshman Mack Hull. She was assisted by captain Philomena Teggart.
- Four minutes later, Lauren Jones would pass to McGrath for her second goal of the contest, pushing the Lakers to a 6-0 lead.
- Oswego held the Mustangs scoreless for the rest of the contest, with Joanna Hiebert and Rachel Brase combining for the shutout.
- The Lakers outshot Morrisville 60-26, while winning the faceoff battle 38-23.
