BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Ice Hockey team defeated Buffalo State on Tuesday night to conclude their regular season. Oswego's Simone Bednarik and Mac Hull scored for the Lakers in just two minutes and three seconds of play in the second period. Joanna Hiebert, fresh off of her third NEWHL Goalie Of The Week selection earned her fifth shutout of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Period
- The Lakers continued their trend, coming out of the gate and immediately putting up five shots on goal in the first two minutes.
- The first five minutes was held in the Lakers scoring zone.
- At 7:59 of the period, Junior Avery Webster deked her way through two Buffalo State defenders on a highlight reel move but was ultimately stopped by the Bengals goaltender.
- After relentless pressure, off of a defensive zone turnover, Ariella Haas found herself with the puck in front, her shot was kicked right to the stick of Simone Bednarkik for her sixth goal and 13th point of the season. Haas picked up her team-leading 15th assist for the Lakers.
- Just 2:03 later, Rachel Corbett set up the Lakers second goal by her persistent offensive forecheck. As the play developed Mack Hull circled the wagons, as she has done all year she gathered the puck, stickhandled with ease and scored her seventh goal of the season.
- At 13:28 the Bengals were presented a powerplay, the Lakers 92.4% efficient penalty kill held the possession.
- Just one minute after killing off the Bengals first powerplay, another opportunity was handed to Buff State as Oswego took a hooking penalty.
- Again, the Lakers fought off the powerplay, not allowing a shot on goal.

2nd Period
- Early in the second period the Bengals trapped the Lakers in their own zone for over a minute, Oswego was able to escape unscathed.
- After penalties one a side in the second period the Lakers put up eight shots on goal in just under three minutes of offensive zone time.
- The Lakers continued to keep the offensive zone pressure on throughout the period but were unable to capitalize.

3rd Period
- The third period started in favor of Buffalo State as they had the offensive pressure for the first minute.
- From here the Lakers took over the offensive possession as they have all game.
- After five shots in a row the Bengals took three in a row of their own.
- At the 13:30 mark the Bengals took their timeout after the Lakers continued their offensive zone dominance.
- After the timeout, Oswego didn't let up as they put up the final 13 shots of goal in the contest.
- Hiebert earns her fifth shutout of the season with 13 saves throughout.
