GENEVA, N.Y. - The Oswego State Women's Lacrosse team opened their 2022 campaign against the No. 7 William Smith Herons. Logan Castiglione finished the contest with two assists while the Lakers had four other point earners.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Q1

• Oswego started their 2022 campaign swiftly as Madison Davis scored her first goal of the season, assisting was Logan Castiglione. 
• William-Smith found the twine just two minutes later, tying the contest at one. 
• The Lakers scored on an 8-meter shot, but the goal was taken back after the stick check with the officials deeming it illegal with 17 seconds remaining in the first quarter. 

Q2

• At 13:45 of the second quarter, Laker goalkeeper got a piece of the 8-meter shot, keeping the contest even at one. 
• The Lakers broke the tie at 10:33 in the second quarter, Julia Quirk scored her first goal of the season. Castiglione picked up her second point of the season. 
• At the 6:13 mark, the Herons knotted the game at two. 
•  With 1:25 remaining in the half, the Herons saved the 8-meter shot. 
• With 23 seconds remaining the Herons took the 3-2 lead.

• With 10:59 remaining in the third quarter, William Smith took the two-goal lead. 
• The Herons did not let up as they scored their fifth goal with 6:23 remaining on the player advantage 
• With 4:58 William Smith, after causing a turnover, scored their sixth goal.
• After a ground ball picked by Sarah Kamide, Kamide got the ball to Sela Wiley, who in turn passed to Davis who ripped one behind the Heron goaltender, cutting the lead to three.

Q4

• With 8:24 remaining in the contest, William-Smith extended their lead back to four goals. 
• Just over a  minute later, the Herons extended their lead even further, scoring their eighth goal off of a shot right in front of the Laker goalkeeper. 
• The Herons added another pair of goals with 4:26 remaining and 3:39 remaining, giving their team the seven goal lead. 
• With 12 seconds remaining, William Smith added their final goal, earning the victory 11-3.
