OSWEGO, N.Y. – Senior Danielle Caivana had 21 points, but the Potsdam Bears overcame a strong Laker start for the 66-52 State University of New York Athletic Conference victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Behind six points from Caivana and five from freshman Shania Iglesias, Oswego led 13-9 after the opening quarter.
• The Lakers held a 26-23 lead with two minutes left in the half but a 6-0 run by the Bears would give them a 29-26 edge at the break.
• Caivana and guard Logan Castiglione kept Oswego in striking distance with 12 of Oswego's 14 third quarter points, but Potsdam took a six-point lead (46-40) into the final stanza.
• The Bears shot 58.3% in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.
• Shooting was the difference as Potsdam finished hitting 43.1% from the floor to 30.3% for Oswego.
• It was a 48-34 edge in rebounds for the visitors as they outscored the Lakers 46-20 in the paint.
• Iglesias finished with nine points while classmates Diamond Pickett and Claire Skowronski added six points each.
• Pickett grabbed nine rebounds and Logan Nyemchek had five boards and a pair of blocks.
