  • Location:  Deborah F. Stanley Arena, Marano Campus Center, Oswego, N.Y.

  • Records:  Oswego 15-4-1 (10-1-1 SUNYAC), Brockport 13-7-1 (6-5-0 SUNYAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Period

  • The Lakers got things rolling early as Alex DiCarlo scored the Lakers first of four in the period. This goal gave him the sole lead in goals for the Lakers with 11.

  • Points leader Travis Broughman and Freshman Ben Addison both added assists.

  • Three minutes later the Golden Eagles struck back, knotting it at one.

  • 1:59 later the Golden Eagles took the lead, that lead lasted a mere 27 seconds as Tyler Flack took a pass from Shane Bull, went in and shot against the grain right over the right pad of the Brockport goaltender.

  • Oswego kept it rolling as they took the lead only 25 seconds later.

  •  Josh Leblanc carried the puck through the defensive zone, he passed to Mac Lewis who brought it through the neutral zone into the Lakers scoring zone. Tommy Cahill received a pass from Lewis and took the shot, it was saved, but the rebound was netted by Lewis for his third point in three games for the Green and Gold.

  • With 3:17 remaining in the period, Brockport added another tally.

  • The Golden Eagles escaped the first period only down by one goal despite the Lakers hitting two posts in the stanza.

Second Period

  • The Lakers really took control of the game in the second period as the Lakers had an answer for every Brockport opportunity.

  • After Brockport had the first shots of the period, Oswego went on a rampage of shots eventually leading to the Lakers fifth goal. Flack added his second of the contest assisted by Rocco Andreacchi and Shane Bull, his second of the night and fifth of the campaign.

  • A two-goal lead was not enough for the Green and Gold as they kept consistent offensive pressure just after their fifth tally, putting five shots on the board within three minutes and thirty seconds of scoring that fifth goal.

  • About three-quarters of the way through the period the momentum shifted a bit as the Golden Eagles started to put shots on goal.

  • This momentum was shut right down as Troy Robillard snapped a shot past the Golden Eagles goaltender from just above the hash marks. Conor Smart and AJ Ryan assisted the sixth goal for Oswego.

  • Again the Lakers kept the offensive pressure up just after their goal, hitting iron for the THIRD time in the contest, this time Cahill kissed the pipe with a wrister.

  • The period concluded with a couple of penalties, elbowing for Ryan Dickinson, nullifying the Lakers powerplay after a bench minor was called on Brockport with 2:08 remaining. The Dickinson penalty was called with 00:51  remaining on the clock.

Third Period

  • The Lakers continued the offensive momentum in the final stanza, putting up 21 shots in the period to Brockport's nine.

  • Tommy Cahill scored his second of the contest with only five seconds remaining, Cahill came up the left side of the goaltender and blasted a snapshot by for the seventh and final goal of the contest.
