AUBURNDALE, FL – The Oswego State Baseball team took down the Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins this morning by a score of 6-4. The Blue Jays have been ranked as high as No. 5 in the country this season. As of the Week Three D3 Baseball Poll the Blue Jays are ranked No. 13 in the country.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The contest started off as a pitching battle, between both teams the Lakers and Blue Jays only allowed three hits through two innings.
- In the bottom of the third inning, the Lakers found their groove after Colin Williams was hit by a pitch and Frank Levanti walked.
- Tim Schinto singled to the pitcher on a hard-hit ground ball, scoring Williams from third.
- Paul Tammaro found first base on a fielder's choice.
- Ryan Enos followed suit as he also got to first on a fielder's choice. Tammaro was thrown out at third.
- Kyle Lauria next up, found himself on base on an error from the shortstop.
- Levanti scored on the error bringing the Laker lead to two runs.
- Lukas Olsson drew his 13th walk of the season, loading the bases.
- Julian Drew continued his success in the batters box as he singled up the middle, scoring Lauria and Enos. This gave the Lakers the four run lead going into the fourth inning.
- The Lakers held the Blue Jays scoreless through six innings. This included nine strikeouts from Oswego State's Ace Kieran Finnegan.
- With three doubles in the sixth inning the Blue Jays crawled back to cut their deficit to only one run (4-3).
- With the seventh inning scoreless, the eighth inning proved to be the inning of executing. Johns Hopkins tied the ball game with a single shot homerun.
- The Lakers didn't take light to that as McCarthy was first up after the tying home run in a pinch hitting situation, he ROPED a triple to right center field.
- Enos reached on an error from the third baseman after making contact, breaking the tie, scoring McCarthy.
- Lauria laid down a successful sacrifice bunt to move Enos to second.
- Olsson then singled to shortstop, moving Enos to third base.
- Tishawn Featherstone in another pinch-hitting situation, singled to right field, scoring Enos and moving Olsson up to third.
- With the bases loaded after Jacob Levine drew a walk, the Blue Jays defense was able to minimize the damage to two runs (6-4).
- The Lakers got the job done in the ninth inning, earning the 6-4 victory.

Oswego State will have their first home double-header against the SUNY Cobleskills Fighting Tigers at 1/4pm on Wednesday March 30.
