Enos Shatters Records as Baseball Wins Two

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Oswego State Baseball team's offense showed up in a big way en route to a 27-14 win over Keystone in the opener and a 9-2 victory over No. 18 Shenandoah on Saturday.  Graduate student Ryan Enos set program records with six hits, three homeruns and five runs scored against Keystone.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1 - Keystone
  • Oswego scored in every inning except the fourth in this one as they pounded out 23 hits and took 13 walks in the contest.
  • Enos went 6-for-7 in the game with a double and three homeruns, five runs scored and five runs batted in.
  • Fellow graduate student Lukas Olsson reached base five times, including on four walks, and also scored five runs.
  • Leadoff batter Paul Tammaro went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and three RBI's, including his first homerun of the season.
  • Left fielder Julian Drew added four RBI on a 2-for-4 afternoon and center fielder Kyle Lauria was 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
  • Sophomore Jacob Sanders (1-0) pitched 3.1 innings, yield just one earned run and striking out three for the win.
  • Classmate Jake Danyluk added 2.2 innings to close out the game, allowing just one walk and striking out two.
Game 2 – No. 18 Shenandoah
  • Tammaro hit homeruns in his first two at-bats and Oswego drew four walks for an early 3-0 lead.
  • Graduate student Ryan Weiss went 2-for-5 in this one with two RBI to help Oswego pull away.
  • Olsson added a homerun and three walks to reach base 75% of the time on the day.
  • Freshman Tishawn Featherstone and Enos added RBI-singles in the contest.
  • On the mound, senior Kieran Finnegan was impressive, going 6.1 innings, yielding just two earned runs and striking out 10.
  • Reliever Tony Poveda went the final 2.2, retiring all eight batters he faced, including a pair of K's.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers stay over in Winchester and will play No. 18 Shenandoah again on Sunday before heading back north.
