BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Lacrosse team went on the road today and defeated the Buffalo State Bengals 18-7. Madison Davis led the Laker offense with seven points, while Sela Wiley contributed six points of her own to give Oswego the SUNYAC conference victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Oswego State got an early lead at 14:03 in the first quarter Sophie Ruschin assisted Davis to make it 1-0.

Buffalo State would answer, scoring just over a minute later to even the score, 1-1.

The Lakers would then go on a tear in the first quarter, scoring eight unanswered goals to make the score 9-1.

During the run, goals were scored by Julia Quirk (3), Isabella Lembo (2), Logan Castiglione (2), and Shae McConnell.

Assists were credited to Wiley (3) and Davis (2).

The Bengals would score with 48 seconds left in the period, only to be matched with another Davis goal to make the score 10-2.

Buffalo State scored first about halfway through the second frame, again only to be matched by a Wiley goal one minute later on an assist from Castiglione to make it 11-3.

The next two goals would go to the Lakers, both Wiley and Davis on the scoring end to extend the Oswego State lead, 13-3.

Six seconds before the half, Bengals would get one back to put the score at 13-4.

Buffalo State started the third quarter with another goal, narrowing the Laker lead, 13-5.

Oswego answered with three straight goals, two coming from Wiley and another from Davis. Castiglione added another assist en route to a 16-5 lead.

The fourth quarter would see the Bengals and Lakers exchange two goals each, resulting in a 18-7 final score.

The final two Laker goals were scored by Davis and McConnell.

Oswego outshot the Bengals 30-17, and went 5-7 on free-position attempts.
