OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's Lacrosse team faced off against the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons at home this afternoon. The game was close as Oswego and Cortland exchanged goals throughout the contest. The Lakers matched up well against the Red Dragons, late in the fourth quarter Cortland scored their 16th goal to take the comeback out of reach. Oswego's Max Broadman scored four goals in the contest and Gavin Elston added two goals and three assists. Oswego fell to Cortland 16-12.

Q1

• Cortland opened up the scoring with 13:56 on the clock.
• Oswego's Elston tied the game up a minute later.
• The Red Dragons went on a three goal run in five minutes to take a 4-1 lead.
• Elston setup Cameron Tallman to bring the deficit to two goals.
• With a minute remaining in the quarter Cortland scored their fifth goal. 

Q2

• Cortland extended their lead to four goals with 11:54 on the clock.
• After winning a faceoff the Lakers' Ryan Eccles scored after Corey O'Connor set him up, bringing the Lakers within three. 
• With 10:48 on the clock the Red Dragons scored again.
• Broadman immediately answered with a goal of his own, this continued to be the theme of the game, Oswego struck back on nearly every Cortland goal.  
• With 8:59 remaining on the clock Cortlantd scored after a fast break through the middle.  
• 20 seconds later Tallman scored his second goal of the contest.
• The back and forth continued as Cortland scored again with an extra man advantage. 
• Oswego answered again after Elston scored with 5:41 on the clock. 
•  The Red Dragons scored the last goal of the half, the Lakers trailed by four (10-6).

• Broadman scored his second goal of the contest to bring the Lakers within three again. 
• O'Connor scored with 12:05 on the clock to make the score 10-8 in favor of Cortland.
• Cortland ended the two goal scoring run by Oswego with 7:31 on the clock.
• Weston Gray scored after being assisted by Elston to bring the game back to a two goal deficit. 
• The Red Dragons scored two goals within a minute to make the score 13-9 in their favor.
• Broadman scored a solo goal with 1:20 on the clock. 
• In the last minute of the quarter Cortland scored their 14th goal of the contest.

• With 7:22 remaining in the contest Jack Delany scored after a clear. 
• In less than a minute Cortland scored two goals to make the score 16-11 in Cortland's favor, this was the turning point in the game, going up by five goals. 
• The Lakers did not give up even down five as the Green and Gold had a lot of fight left in them.  
• In the last two minutes of the contest Oswego's Broadman scored his fourth of the contest.

The Lakers take on SUNY Brockport  at 4 p.m. on Friday April 29 at Laker Turf Field. The Lakers will recognize the Senior class of 2022 prior to the contest.
