ALLEGHANY, N.Y. – The Oswego State Baseball team took on Fredonia for their final regular season double header this afternoon. The Lakers with two victories clinched the #1 seed in the SUNYAC tournament and are the 2022 SUNYAC Regular Season Champions. The Lakers won by scores of 5-2 and 10-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- Paul Tammaro kicked off the scoring in the third inning with a solo homerun to give the Lakers the lead.
- There were many scoring opportunities in the first few innings, but both defenses shut it down.
- In the top of the fourth inning the Lakers started with two walks in a row, Lukas Olsson and Ryan Weiss. Olsson then advanced to second base on a wild pitch during Weiss' at bat, putting another Laker runner in scoring position.
- TiShawn Featherstone reached on an error, loading the bases for Julian Drew,
- Drew then singled, scoring Olsson and advancing Weiss and Featherstone.
- With two out and the bases still loaded, Tammaro came up to bat and singled for his second RBI of the game, crossing the plate was Weiss.
- In the bottom of the fifth inning the Blue Devils added a two-run homerun after a leadoff walk to bring them within one run.
- Kyle Lauria fired right back at the Blue Devils with a leadoff single and Olsson in his second at bat was no exception. Olsson hit his sixth homerun in the past five games, giving the Lakers the 5-2 lead.
- This proved to be the final score of the first game in the double header.
- Kieran Finnegan earned the win for the Lakers on the mound as he finished his regular season with a 7-0 record for the Green and Gold.
- Ben Wilcox earned the save, pitching 2.0 innings to close the game out for the Lakers.
- The first game played was 7 innings.
Game 2
- In the first inning of game two, the Lakers' Ryan Enos roped a double to put himself in scoring position with one out.
- Olsson then singled, advancing Enos to third.
- Weiss came to the plate with two outs in the inning and also singled, scoring Enos and advancing Olsson to third.
- The second inning went scoreless for both teams, the Lakers held on to the 1-0 lead.
- In the top of the third inning the Enos lead off by getting hit by a pitch.
- Enos then stole second base after a fly out to right field, giving the Lakers one out.
- Enos advanced to third base on a wild pitch.
- Lauria then followed suit unfortunately, also being hit by a pitch.
- Weiss then walked, loading the bases.
- Featherstone hit a grandslam to bring the Laker lead to 5-0.
- In the top of the fourth inning after Tammaro was hit by a pitch, he stole second and third base.
- With Lauria up to bat, he hit a rocket over the fence, bringing the score to 7-0.
- The game remained 7-0 until the ninth inning where Brett Myers found himself in the batters box with Ben Wilcox and Matt Enos on base.
- Myers homered, bringing in Wilcox and Enos to bring the Lakers to 10-0.
- The Blue Devils broke the shutout with a single in the bottom of the ninth, creating a final score of 10-1 in favor of the Lakers.

The Lakers will prepare for the four team double-elimination SUNYAC Championship Tournament hosted by the Lakers, this tournament starts on Thursday and will run through Saturday.
