OSWEGO, N.Y.  –  The Oswego State Women's Tennis team was defeated by a narrow margin this afternoon by the St. John Fisher University Cardinals with a final match score of 5-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- 
	In first doubles the Lakers started off strong with a win 8-3 at the hands of Alyx Sperling and Angelina Llanos.  
- 
	Second doubles the Cardinals took by a final of 8-3.  
- 
	First singles went to a tie-breaking set after the first two sets read 6-7 (Osw) and 8-6 (SJFU). Llanos took the tie-breaking set by a score of 7-1 to tie the match with the Cardinals.  
- 
	Sperling also took her second singles match in a tie-breaking set with score reading 6-3 (SJFU), 6-3 (Osw) and Sperling was victorious in the tie-breaker 10-7.  
- 
	Oswego then took three consecutive losses in third, fourth and fifth singles giving SJFU a 5-3 match total score.  
- 
	Dmitri Kopoula won her singles match in straight sets 7-5 and 6-4 but unfortunately the damage had been done and the Lakers ultimately fell by a score of 5-4.

Oswego State will travel to New Paltz to take on the Hawks on September, 16 at 3:00PM.
