Women's Tennis Tripped Up by Cardinals

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.  –  The Oswego State Women's Tennis team was blanked by the Cardinals of Plattsburgh in a SUNYAC matchup this afternoon. Plattsburgh took the victory 9-0. 

THE BASICS

Final Leaderboard: Plattsburgh 9 , Oswego State 0 

Location: Memorial Tennis Courts, Plattsburgh, N.Y. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Emily Lyga and Alyx Sperling fought in first doubles but ultimately fell 8-6. 

  • Jenna Wilson and Rafaela Dimitrakopoulou fell 8-2 in second doubles. 

  • Cara Campanie and Debora Win were defeated in third doubles after a battle, ultimately falling 8-4. 

  • Sperling took her second set in first singles but resulted in a 10-6 final in the tie-breaking set. 

  • Wilson fell by scores of 6-1 and 6-0 in second singles. 

  • Campanie took the 6-2 and 6-1 loss in third singles. 

  • Dimitrakopoulou fell 6-1 and 6-0 in fourth singles. 

  • Win in fifth singles scores read 6-4 and 6-3 in favor of the Cardinals.

Oswego will travel to Houghton on Tuesday, September 20 at 4:00PM.
