OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Volleyball team continued their hot streak this evening with a 3-0 sweep over conference foe Plattsburgh. With this win, it makes it six wins in a row for the Lakers. This is the third time the Lakers' Volleyball program has had six wins in a row since 2015.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lakers took advantage of Cardinal miscues as they went up 3-1 in the first set off of two attack errors and a kill by Georgia Farry.

Plattsburgh then did the same to Oswego as they earned four points off of mistakes on the Laker offensive with two setting errors and two attack errors bringing the score to 8-4 in favor of the Cardinals.

Oswego got down by as much as five in the first set, finding the score at 14-9.

The Green and Gold looked to mount a comeback as they were down 22-17 as Plattsburgh closed in one ending the first set.

A Farry kill initiated a massive six-point run for the home team, Nyah Dias had an assist and a serving ace in the run for Oswego.

Farry finished the run with a huge block to give the Lakers the 23-22 lead.

Plattsburgh wouldn't go easy as they tied the set a 23 just before two straight kills off of the hands of Sydney Chiffriller and Cara Simplicio to complete the comeback.

The second set continued to be very tight, with back and forth points, the Lakers and Cardinals found themselves tied at eight after a kill from Grace Taylor.

Taylor initiated a four-point run for the Lakers to put them up 11-8.

Plattsburgh then took a page out of Oswego's book as they went on a four-point run of their own to steal the lead back.

With the see-saw of points continuing, the score sat at 19-18 in favor of the Lakers.

Farry once again shifted the momentum in favor of the Lakers,.

Dias had two serving aces, and two assists in the final run for the home squad.

Oswego took the second set by a final of 25-19 after a service error from the Cardinals.

The final set came down to the wire with neither team giving up.

Plattsburgh found the score to be 20-17 in their favor after a five-point run to try and force a fourth set.

Oswego put the pressure on with multiple lengthy rallies down the stretch of the final set.

This forced Plattsburgh into three attacking errors in a row to tie the contest at 20 points a side.

Plattsburgh then took the lead off of a service error on the Lakers.

Again, the Lakers forced the Cardinals into a mistake as they made an attack error, giving Oswego the 22-21 advantage.

After a service error on Plattsburgh to bring the score to 24-22, Plattsburgh scored to make it 24-23.

Grace slammed home the victory for the Lakers, finishing it off with a kill.

Emma Fiorentine finished the day off with a team-leading nine kills.

Chiffriller finished with eight kills tied with Farry for the day.

Dias had herself a day with 27 assists, eight digs and three serving aces.
