OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Soccer team followed up their 7-0 victory over Cazenovia with another shutout of the exact same score versus the Canton Kangaroos. The Lakers had five different goal scorers en route to their first home victory in 2022.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Although there was no score for the first 30 minutes of the contest, Oswego clearly had the advantage, pouring on 20 shots to Canton's one.

At the 36:25 mark, newcomer Brianna Winkler tallied her first collegiate goal on an assist from Gillian Groth to put the Lakers up 1-0.

The persistent Laker offense would tally seven more shots before the half ended in the home team's favor.

Five minutes into the second half, Luigina Serrao received a penalty kick and capitalized on the opportunity to extend the Laker lead, 2-0.

At 55:44 and 59:08, sophomore Katie Delgrosso tallied her third and fourth goals of the season, giving Oswego a 4-0 lead.

Winkler would join Delgrosso 13 minutes later, tallying her second goal of the contest on an assist from Phyllis Reed to make it a 5-0 game.

On a free kick at the 79:09 mark, sophomore Lauren O'Connell added another Laker goal by lacing one in the top half of the net, making it 6-0.

To put the icing on the cake, senior Andrea Hernandez scored her second career goal off a header, assisted by freshman Charlotte Faulkner.

Oswego piled on 43 total shots, including 25 on goal, resulting in a 7-0 victory over the Kangaroos.

Goalies Perri Anderson, Haley Muehl and Paytyn Crane combined for the shutout, the teams second on the year in as many games.
