NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Basketball team fell to the New Paltz Hawks on Saturday, with Julia Logana leading the Lakers in scoring.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lakers were outscored 20-7 in the first quarter. Logan Castiglione had three points and Caitie Lilly had four points.

The second quarter progressed very much like the first, with the Hawks outscoring the Lakers 21-8.

At the half, Lilly led the Lakers in scoring with six points.

After the slow start, Oswego made some adjustments to improve their performance on both sides of the ball and played a much more competitive game in the second half.

At the end of the third quarter, Oswego trailed 61-29. Julia Logana scored four points to drive the Lakers' 14-point third quarter.

Logana scored the Lakers' first six points of the fourth, and Oswego chipped away at the lead, but it was not enough to come back in a substantial way.

Points off turnovers were a big part of the game, with New Paltz outscoring the Lakers 25-6.

Logana ended the contest with 10 points. Peyton Daeffler and Caitie Lilly had eight points apiece.
