OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Basketball team fell to the SUNY Potsdam Bears on Saturday, with Giavanna White-Principio leading the Lakers in scoring.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lakers were outscored 14-9 in the first quarter of the game after shooting 28.57% from the field. Sydney Hoefs had five points in the quarter.

The second quarter went similarly to the first, this time with the Bears outscoring the Lakers 17-10. White-Principio had a good quarter, mirroring Hoefs' five first quarter points.

The third quarter was a struggle for Oswego, as they scored three points on 11.11% shooting.

White-Principio added a three-pointer in the fourth quarter to give her the Laker lead in points, with 10.

The Bears were led in scoring by Jakia Howard, who had 20.

The Bears capitalized on Laker turnovers, scoring 32 points off of them. They also had 32 points in the paint.

Both teams had solid performances from their bench players, with Potsdam having 19 points from their bench, and Oswego getting 16 from theirs.

The women will host the New Paltz Hawks on Friday, February 3 in the Max Ziel Gymnasium and will look to get back on track in the SUNYAC Conference.
