Lakers Win 14th Straight, Score 100+ Points For Fifth Time

OSWEGO, N.Y.  –  The Oswego State Men's Basketball team hosted the Potsdam Bears this afternoon. The Lakers were able to extend their win streak to 14 games following a 25 point rout over the Bears. Devin Green led the charge for the Lakers scoring 18 points, shooting 50% from the field.

Final Score: Oswego State 103 (18-2, 12-1 SUNYAC), Potsdam 78 (6-12, 4-8 SUNYAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Lakers and Bears would go back-and-forth exchanging baskets through the first seven minutes of play before the Lakers started to warm up and find their rhythm.

  • Joey Rowback would start to heat up from behind the arc, hitting four threes, which helped give the Lakers an eight point lead halfway through the first. 

  • The Lakers would lead the Bears by 24 points going into the second half of play. Leading the Lakers in points was Joey Rowback with 15, also in double digits for the Lakers was Devin Green with 12, and Cartier Bowman with ten; Bowman controlled the glass through the first half, leading the team with five rebounds. Devin Green led the Lakers with five assists at the half. 

  • The Lakers shot an outstanding 60.3% from the field in the first half of play. They also controlled the glass, out rebounding the Bears by a 22-10 margin. 

  • The Lakers would remain in control through the second half of play, refusing to let the Bears back into the game. 

  • Oswego would win the game by a margin of 25. 

  • Devin Green led the Lakers with 18 points on the evening, shooting 50% from the field. 

  • Jamal Achille led the Lakers on the glass with eight rebounds, adding 15 points for the Lakers. 

  • Oswego had five Lakers who scored double digit points this afternoon. Rowback finished with 15, Jeremiah Sparks finished with 11, and Cartier Bowman finished with ten. 

WHAT'S NEXT

The Lakers will tip-off against New Paltz on Friday, February 3rd at home in the Max Ziel Gymnasium. The tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
