OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Men's Basketball team kicked off the 2023-24 season and the annual Max Ziel Tournament this evening with a match up against the SUNY Poly Wildcats. In a dominant opening night performance, the Lakers defeated the Wildcats 104-66.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first ten minutes of the game remained close as the Wildcats and Lakers traded opportunities. SUNY Poly led 18-17 with 8:23 remaining in the half.
- After this point, the Lakers offense broke out, finishing the half outscoring the visitors 33-11 to go into halftime with a 50-29 lead.
- The Lakers' hot shooting continued through the second half as they outscored the Wildcats 54-37 for a comfortable 104-66 win.
- Jeremiah Sparks led the Lakers scoring with 19 points, followed closely by Cartier Bowman's 16 point performance.
- Josh Thigpen led the rebound efforts for the Lakers with 8 rebounds off the bench.
