CORTLAND, N.Y. – Women's hockey began their weekend slate of games with a matchup in Cortland against the #11 ranked Red Dragons. The Lakers defense held strong to finish with a 0-0 draw against Cortland and pick up a valuable point in the SUNYAC standings.

Final Score: Oswego 0 (3-2-1, 1-2-1 SUNYAC), Cortland (6-0-1, 3-0-1 SUNYAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In a tight first period, the Lakers were able to weather the Cortland attack thanks to 13 saves by Lexi Levy in goal.
- The second period would still be a scoreless effort, but there was not much to distinguish the two sides as each team managed just 6 shots on net in the middle frame.
- The final period of regulation saw many more opportunities for both teams to find the back of the net as Oswego outshot the hosts 12-11.
- The period would remain scoreless into an overtime period in which the game would remain in a scoreless deadlock.
- The Lakers penalty kill was a huge factor in keeping the nationally ranked Red Dragons scoreless as they held the Cortland powerplay 0-4 on the evening.

The Lakers get right back on the ice for more SUNYAC action on November 18
th for a 3pm matchup against Buffalo State for their annual Teddy Bear Toss Game at the Deborah F. Stanley Arena.
