HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In a fast, openly played first period, both teams saw opportunities for goals but neither was able to breakthrough until 17:26 into the 1st period when Peter Morgan for Geneseo was brought down on a breakaway and awarded a penalty shot which he was able to capitalize on.
  • The Lakers managed to control play in the 2nd period outshooting the Knights 15-5, but were unable to get a shot past Geneseo goalie, Adam Harris.
  • Geneseo's Andrew Bruno was able to add a second goal for Geneseo just under the halfway mark of the period as he was able to find the puck first through a scramble in front of the Oswego net and push it across the goal line.
  • The Oswego offense continue to barrage the Geneseo goal in the third period and were finally able to breakthrough with a Daniel Colabufo goal with 3:20 left in the period.
  • Despite throwing 18 shots on target in the 3rd period, the Lakers were unable to get another shot past Harris and would fall by a final score of 2-1 despite outshooting the Knights 41-23 on the evening.
  • The Lakers powerplay went 0-6 on the evening despite accumulating 15 shots in the process.
