ADRIAN, MI – After a lengthy road trip, Oswego Women's hockey arrived in Adrian, Michigan for their annual two-game series against the 8th ranked Adrian College Bulldogs. Despite a relentless effort in the 2nd and 3rd periods, the Lakers could not come back from the Bulldogs' hot start in the first.

Final Score: Oswego 1 (4-3-1, 2-2-1 SUNYAC), Adrian College 2 (6-1-0, 4-0-0 NCHA)

HOW IT HAPPENED  
  

• Despite winning the opening faceoff, the Lakers were quickly caught off guard by Adrian's aggressive offense.  

• The Bulldogs jumped out in front early with a goal by Freshman Paige Pomerleau, just 1:47 into the game.  

• In the following minutes, the Lakers struggled to find clean breakout routes and found themselves stuck in their defensive zone, once again giving Adrian's offense the upper hand and their second goal of the game at 6:58. 

• The first period would come to an end with the Lakers at a 2-goal deficit to the hosts.  

• The Bulldogs' 2-0 lead would continue until halfway through the second period, when Junior Forward Ashlyn Mcgrath tallied one for the Lakers at 9:58.  

• For the remainder of the second period, Oswego struggled to stay out of the penalty box, but shut down Adrian's skilled powerplay, closing out the first two frames of play with the score standing at 2-1.  

• Oswego's powerplay generated some quality scoring chances throughout the third period but unfortunately could not beat a skilled Adrian defense, ending the game with a 2-1 loss.

The Lakers will return to Arrington Arena tomorrow, November 25th at 1PM, for the second competition of the series against the Adrian College Bulldogs.
